How can I be sure my child will settle in and get used to the routines?

Before your child starts at Wriggles and Giggles we arrange 1 or 2 free settling in sessions. This allows you and your child to get to know the staff and your childs key worker.

These free sessions also allow your child to become familiar with the surroundings.

If your child is starting in the baby room we will endeavour to stick to the routine followed at home to ensure he/she quickly settles.

Wriggles and Giggles supports breastfeeding, and we will accomodate your needs as best as possible. Parents are welcome to come in and breastfeed their child in-line with their routine/ or bring expressed breast milk in for staff to give to their child.

If your child is older we will continue to do our best to stick to any set routines that have been established at home.

Can I phone the nursery throughout the day?

You can phone us as many times as you wish throughout the day until you feel happy. You are welcome to call into the nursery during your breaks if you work locally or are passing to see how your child is settling.

What happens if my child is poorly at the nursery?

If your child becomes unwell during the day we will contact you immediately to ask you to collect him/her and ensure that your child is reassure and comforted until you arrive. Until you arrive your child will be allowed to rest away from the other children with an assigned member of staff. In the event of a serious accident or illness medical professionals ie 999 will be contacted and staff assigned accordingly. Staff members hold first aid certificates. A first aid box and book are also available.

We have policies surrounding all aspects of Nursery care. Please feel free to read them.

What if my child has antibiotics?

Antibiotics will only be administered if they are more than 3 days old. Your child should not attend until this time.

What if I can't get to the nursery in time for closing? Can I send somebody else?

If you cannot get to the nursery in time you can send someone else but they must be over 18 years old and you must give them the password. You must inform the nursery who will be coming and give us a full description of the person and what time they will be arriving.

When the person arrives they will be asked numerous questions about the child eg date of birth, address and they will be expected to sign the collections book.  We can also set up a password with you at short notice which enables someone you have chosen to pick up your child, if you are unable to make it on any occasion. A new password will be used for each occasion for safety purposes.
